She Colors My World

Rockin' M in Color on B&W, originally uploaded by Snakelover61.

This photo is an example of an after-the-shot processing technique. I started with a color picture that I took of my sweetheart. Then in Photoshop Elements, I carefully selected just Mindy. Next I inverted the selection so that everything BUT Mindy was selected. Then I changed the selection to grayscale, which makes that part the same as a black and white image. The result is that my love is in color and everything else is in black and white. I liked it so much that I printed it in 16x20 and put it in a black frame above my computer desk. Can you dig it?

In the black frame, it looks kinda like this.

What I really dig is that my sister and dad are both in the picture, as well! ~Mindy

You know, I actually started to point that out. But then I thought, no, I'll let Mindy do that. I knew it was a guaranteed comment! lol

COLOR MY WORLD (Chicago)

As time goes on I realize
Just what you mean to me
And now, now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams of our moments together
Color my world with hope of loving you

Just sayin'! ;-)

I'll have to figure out how to do that in GIMP. Neat!

Photo looks great! If I'm going to keep blogging, I'm going to need to learn how to take better pictures. This bloggy-world is full of great photographers and I'm still happily wandering in point 'n shoot land.

I love it, you and Mindy are just too cute. Love the effect of the color vs b&w. My photoshop skills are a bit limited, but you look like you've got it figured out.
