Bovine Bar Stools

I bought a cowhide from Tandy Leather and recovered four bar stools. I finished the last three today while watching the Cowboys dismal loss to the Eagles on TV. At right is the fabric "before" bar stool. After ten years of use, the fabric was looking pretty soiled and faded. At left is the leather "after" bar stool. Better than new.

Work in progress...

I'm pretty pleased with this little project! They look great and I think they'll hold up well.

Well, you knew I'd love them! Good job, good choice of material. Don't you just love Tandy's? Did you go to San Antonio?

Thanks, Cher! This particular Tandy's was in Austin. On our way back from a roadtrip, Mindy and I stopped at a thrift store and there happened to be a Tandy's just across the parking lot from it. Since Mindy takes about twice as long to scope out a thrift store as I do, I had plenty of time to leather shop.

Great job. Do you hire out? My seat is a little wore out too. Think that stapler might just do the trick at tacking everything back up. Debbie

You're doing a great job! What a difference. That stool looks brand spanking new.

Good for you!
