I don't do much sports photography. For one thing, it's HARD! Last night, my daughter played in a high school tennis match and I wanted to capture some of the action. Sound easy? She was on one of the center courts of four and I wasn't allowed inside the chain link fence. So the best I could do was to shoot through an open gate when a coach wasn't standing in it. I took a lot of shots, hoping for at least one good one. Sometimes you just take what you can get.
On a side note, this is a sad day for me. Alissa has decided to go live with her mom. There's nothing wrong between us; she says she just misses her mom. She will transfer today to the high school in the city where her mom lives. I do understand that a 16 year old girl needs the emotional support that only a mom can give. But I'm still a sad dad today.

Just be happy that she loves both parents and they love her enough that she feels she has a choice. Seems there are so many kids who have no one who wants them. No one can take the place of Dad -- just ask my Allison. You're a great dad. Jan
It is a sad day. The house will be so quiet (and clean) without her! haha I love her and I love you! ~Mindy
Sorry David. That can't be easy. She's a beautiful young woman...you have lots to be proud of.
You did manage to capture a great shot! How'd she do in the game?

Jan, I'm very proud of her.
Thanks, Tricia. She lost both of her matches, but in close games.
She is such a beautiful young woman. You've done such a great job of being a dad and obviously are keeping the lines of communication open. That's a remarkable thing to do with a teenager.

Hello, I am new to blogging and have seen your comments in some blogs I frequent so I decided to check you out... yaw make a nice couple... notice the Texas accent. I love your photography. I don't have that gifting. I decided to follow along and put you on my blog roll as I think my readers would enjoy your blog. Give me a visit sometime... I am off to check out Mindy.

David, want a one-day photography job at A&M Business school taking pictures at their in-house graduation ceremony on 12/17? Email me if you do. Might look good on the ol' photograhy resume. Don't know what they pay but they do pay!

I don't even attempt action shots, so yours is awesome! I just found your blog from Common Ground and joined the following. Jump over and wave hello when you get a chance...
peace.
:-) That's a great shot! I keep trying for action shots with my teenager - I don't move that fast much less my camera! LOL
I'm sorry to hear she's moving back with her Mom, but I'm with summersundays - it says so much for you that she feels she has a choice! There's nothing better than belonging to a great Daddy!
Have a wonderful week-end! I'm going to try making an Angel today - Thank You!!! ;-)
