David's Pool Hall - Welcome Friends

Thought I would give you a pictorial tour of one of my favorite rooms in the house, my game room.

It's a converted two-car garage. I did almost all of the construction myself, as well as the decorating. I started it immediately after my divorce. It was good therapy.

The walls and ceiling are covered in acoustic wall carpet. Green on the walls and black on the ceiling. It helps keep the sound where it should be, gives the room that "bar room feel" I was going for, and the hook side of velcro sticks to it, so hanging posters is a snap.

Of course, the most important item in the room is the pool table. I chose a Brunswick table with green Simonis cloth. It plays like a dream!

And Brunswick Centennial billiard balls. Just like the pros use.

My beverage dispenser is loaded with ice cold Bud Light longnecks. Push any button; they're all the same. My house, my beer! But the Onkyo surround sound system and a flat screen TV is ready for your choice of CDs or music videos. Turn it up!

One of the most recent additions to my game room. Do you think my game room could quality as redneck chic?

The Duke! Mindy gave me this and I love it! Pick it up, Pilgrim! And some of you will remember Mustang Sally. She's a little more modest these days! The door behind John Wayne goes to a closet I built to enclose the electrical breaker box. (Remember, this used to be a garage.) It also provides a small amount of storage.

This .38 revolver was owned by my great grandfather.

As was this .32 revolver. I put them in the shadow boxes for display.

A couple of turkey beards and spurs. What were they going to do with spurs, anyway? They don't even ride! And they looked like they needed a shave. Nine and three quarters for those who care.

I painted this freak horned deer skull silver metallic.

Mindy gave me this '60's era paper mache taxidermy form. I sprayed it with clear glaze until it got a little glossy in places. I like the patina, don't you?

Raise your right hand and repeat after me, "We the He-Man Woman Haters Club promise not to fall for this Valentine's business because girls are the bunk!" Just kidding, ladies. You know I could never be a hater!

My needs are simple; a place to put my cue when I'm not using it, a license plate from every state, a bucket of beer with fake ice and a guitar I don't know how to play.

Winning isn't everything, but...

I do enjoy a cold beer and some great sax.

Definite man cave. Looks like a place to enjoy your friends and quite a few good laughs. That metallic deer skull actually looks pretty cool...never seen that done before.

Thanks for welcoming us into your game room. It's a fun room.

Judging by that sign, I'm guessing you let Mindy win a lot at pool...right?
Cool cave!

Love the room! When we build our house we are planning a room sorta like that in the basement. I see all your car tags, got an Alabama one? If not you need one ... I can send you one. :-)

OK ~ I think it official ~ I grew some whiskers just looking at your man den. That is the kind of room that if I ever let Mark into I probably wouldn't see him for days.
I know you have fun there and that is what counts. Have a great week David!

David, you did a great job with it all. What man wouldn't be happy in there? I haven't played pool in years, your table looks fabulous!
And my guess is that it keeps you off the streets!
