f-stop Friday - Cool Drink of Water


Sometimes it takes more than one picture to tell a story. Ever wonder how a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker gets a drink of water from a frozen bird bath? Well, first she stands on the ice and pecks a little hole. Rat-a-tat-tat!




Then she sticks the tip of her beak into the hole, turns her head a little sideways and sucks the water up like through a straw...




Ahhhhh! Thirst quenched!
